PEGGY ELSIE INWOOD

Peggy was born to Rose and Ted Gillman on 5 August 1948. She has two brothers Robert and Tony, she also has five brothers and sisters from Ted’s previous marriage they are Bernard, Gary, Jean, Colleen and Julie.

Between 10 and 15 years old she went to boarding school in Wakefield Yorkshire.

Peggy gave birth to Paula on 28 November 1966 in Battersea; she married David Spiking in December 1967 although they divorced in 1975 they had three children together Sheena born 15 June 1969, Mandy born 24 October 1970 and Graham born 30 January 1973.
After meeting Michael Inwood they moved to Sherfield Gardens in 1975. Peggy and Michael married in 1979.

Peggy was a very popular person in Sherfield Gardens with the children as well as adults particularly around the time of the Roehampton festivals she helped to organise. The first year a float from Sherfield Gardens was organised on the theme of “Alice in Wonderland” it won the first place shield. At the shows that were put on for the festivals she once played “Grotbags” and even to this day she is remember for that.

When the children were growing up she had a variety of jobs for example (1.) Working in a factory (2) British Rail at Barnes and Richmond stations (3) The Inland Revenue Sorting centre at Kew which was like a family affair Michael, Peggy, Mandy and Graham all worked there at the same time. When she first became ill in 1994 she had to retire from work. She had a number of different illnesses but always tried to keep a cheerful outlook.

She had eleven grandchildren Sammy, Jack, Harry, Daniel, Amber, Michael, Jayon, David, Kimberley, Ashley and James she also had one great grandson Jamie Lee all of which she was so proud of.

She will be sadly missed be family and friends alike.

FOR ALL OF YOU WAITING IN HEAVEN:
I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame.
Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part. God has you in his arms. I have you in my heart.
I miss you so much mum xxx
